Four Birthday Ideas for Kids to Make Your Life Easier

December 11, 2015
Planning your kid’s birthday party can be stressful and expensive. You want everyone to have a good time, especially the birthday boy or girl. These are the days they’ll look back on and think, “My parents threw me some pretty awesome birthday parties.”

If you’re stuck for ideas on how to throw the perfect, most memorable birthday party, here are four awesome birthday ideas and tips to get the ball rolling:

1. Pick a Theme
Picking a theme will make your party planning experience a much easier one. Choosing a theme is the hardest part. That being said, it’s not hard at all. Every kid has a favorite movie, television show, band, or cartoon character. Find out what it is and run with it.

Finding a theme will also make your decoration shopping a lot less overwhelming. These party stores are often cluttered with everything shiny and Quick read more or view full article colorful and if you’re like me, it’s easy to get lost in the magic (and to spend money on all the magic). A theme will help focus your shopping trip to avoid spending money you don’t have to spend.

As an added bonus, a lot of popular kid’s themes like Disney’s Frozen are sold in ready-made bundles of supplies. You won’t have to scan every aisle looking for the perfect Frozen napkins and tables cloths and party hats because they’ll all come in a neat care pack. Check your local party store for what’s available!

2. Fun Goodie Bags
Goodie bags are probably the best part of any party. Kids especially love them because they get to leave with a bag of surprises. This doesn’t have to be a costly expense either with a trip to your local dollar store. A dollar can go a long way. Goodie bags don’t have to be overdone. Kids will be happy to be getting a bag filled with little toys and treats, regardless of how much is in there.

You can even shop for goodie bags with your chosen theme in mind. If you’re throwing a party themed around a certain band, you don’t have to go out and buy a copy of their latest CD for everyone. This outside the box! Think of what music themed toys will be fun to stick in a goodie bag. Consider music note stickers, or plastic instruments, etc.

3. Food For Everyone
Catering your kid’s birthday party can be a daunting task, especially when you’re already running at full speed, balancing work, kids, home life, school, and all of life’s daily stresses. If you just don’t have the time to put together a feast for 20 or more kids, you might want to consider throwing the birthday party at a great party venue.

Altitude Trampoline Park (just sayin’!) offers a birthday package that includes two large pizzas. Everyone loves pizza, even the pickiest of kids. But, if by some crazy fluke, someone isn’t into pizza, don’t worry, there are other options. Between the Domino’s Pizza and Chick-fil-A menus, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Altitude also offers a No Food option, so if you have other birthday meal plans somewhere else, don’t worry, we won’t force you to eat!  As for drinks, free bottled water is included in Altitude’s birthday package with both the Pizza and No Food options. The kids will need it after all that jumping!

4. Trampoline Party Games
The kids will have no problem having fun at an indoor trampoline park, but just in case things begin to simmer down and there’s still available jumping time, you may want to have some party games in your back pocket. Think back to the games you used to play as a kid on the trampoline in your backyard!

A classic game to play is having the kids jump on the trampoline while someone on the sidelines tosses foam balls onto the trampoline. The goal is to have the kids avoid the balls. If they get hit by a ball, they’re out of the game. The last one standing (or jumping) is the winner! This game gets everyone at the party involved, even the parents!
